Vintage Gold Horse Head Equestrian Dress Clip

I have a very interesting dress clip. This has a horses head at the top and other horse related items at the bottom, I am not horse savvy so unsure of the names :)
I am not sure if it's brass or gold plated. It says pat pend on the inside of the clip and the clip works but it is a little loose so you may need to tighten it if you know how. It shows surface wear and it does need a good cleaning.  The photos are the best description so please view all of them for wear and sizing.
