    Description

    Choice uncirculated 1792 half disme.  President George Washington contributed the silver bullion to mint these coins to John Harper who struck them before the formation of the U.S. Mint in Philadelphia.  In his personal log book, Secretary of State Thomas Jefferson recorded the receipt of 1,500 specimens on July 13, 1792.
